Name: Rachel
Subject: knitting for paul
Comment: I'm busy knitting a scarf for Paul O Grady since Buster died. I'm trying to get it finished for christmas.

I'm 13 and it just goes to show that more kids are learning how to knit!

Name: Nisha
Subject: learning to knit
Comment: Hi! I've been trying to teach my older sister to knit and it's going well. Have you ever tried to teach some one knitting, or are you new to knitting? Here's a tip: if you're new to knitting, use your yarn at a looser gauge than recommended, I find it helps learning knit and purl stitches.

Subject: kniting socks
Comment: I make socks from the down, and have recently found it getting boring. Now, I am making toe-up socks and find that really fun. They're not hard, in fact I find it easy! If you want to make a pair of toe-up socks, go for it! I am using Wendy's sock pattern. (it's something I found on the internet when I typed toe-up sock patterns on Google. It was the first one.) The sock is absolutely fabulous!

Subject: Encouraged!
Comment: These messages have inspired and encouraged me. I have been knitting for a couple of years, and have just started to move beyond scarves. I have been frustrated in my attempts to use double pointed needles and with finishing techniques. I feel inspired to hang in there an keep trying; thanks to you all who have shared your experiences!

Subject: Socks!!!
Comment: I started knitting a year ago. I finally had the courage to try a sock. I made one for my two year old son, and it fit him so perfectly that was going to out grow it the next week. So I have started a larger pair. Socks are not the terror I had been told they were. Though I did have to tear out the heal the first time through, I did it great the second time though. I love knitting socks. My next goal? Gloves, yeah!!

Subject: on my way :)
Comment: The first time I tried knitting was many Christmases ago after my mom gave me a 'learn how to knit' kit. After several unsuccessful attempts and many episodes of chucking the needles across the room, I gave up and moved onto making hemp bracelets. Then bead weaving. Then crochet. And...back to knitting. Armed with several knitting books (including another 'learn how to knit' kit) and some very very helpful online videos, learning all the different needle options and accessories (much more complicated than crochet!!), and many many many hours spent learning and practicing the basics of casting on, knitting and purling..and ripping it all out again to start over: I have finished my first hat, started on circular needles and finished off on double points. Those of you out there struggling, getting frustrated and feeling you'll never 'get it'..well, put it down for now. But make sure you come back later and give it another shot. Eventually you'll get there, and it's well worth the trouble! Good luck :))

Subject: Finally figured it out
Comment: Just wanted to say, I tried multiple times in the past but could only ever figure out the knit stitch. The proper purl stitch always evaded me. This past month I finally figured it out and I am now making a scarf for my sister for Christmas :) I'm definitely addicted!

Name: Rebecca
Subject: Knitting
Comment: I'm 35 years old and taught myself to knit last month (with the help of knitting videos online.) I love it! I can't get enough of it. Knitting is all I think about when I'm not knitting. I guess I must be addicted. Four scarves and two hats later. I'm looking for an easy pattern for gloves. I'm so excited to get started. Wish me luck!

Name: Emily
Subject: Dreams...
Comment: I started knitting in July this year after a couple of previous failed attempts over the last 15 years...and now I am completely addicted! I even have dreams about knitting and wake up disappointed that I haven't actually made any more progress during the night on whatever project I'm experimenting with. So if like me you've had trouble learning to knit in the past, don't worry, when the time is right it'll come :o)

Subject: Happiness
Comment: Knitting makes me happy. Plain and simple. Its the most stress-free hobby i have. Completely eases the tensions of the day and by the end of it you have something that you have created with your own two hands and nothing is more pleasing. Not to mention the compliments you receive.

Subject: Congrats
Comment: Kate quitting smoking is a very difficult task. Im proud of you... and happy to know that knitting has played a part in your success. Keep up the good work.
A new school year has started and my knitters will be joining me soon. About 10 new children interested in trying. I CANT WAIT

Name: Josephine
Subject: gloves
Comment: I've just started my christmas rounds now (yes, I know that it's way to early!!!) because this year I'm doing gloves for everyone! It's great fun, but really irritating (I've got to do about ten pairs, I think, I'm not counting!) and I've stopped school work, which really isn't a good idea, as I'm in the upper VI (year 13!)

Name: Lisa
Subject: Addicted
Comment: I think that I am addicted to knitting.... I do it everyday and when I'm not it's all i think about... not to good when your trying to work... I want to stop but it's just so darn fun.

Comment: Hi, I love posting comments in here, I love to read what I wrote as well as reading others comments. Tonight's: I'm on my computer on this site, enjoying knitting my "holiday-tube" project,I'm not sure if I'm going to make a sock out of my "tube" or a purse of some kind. Yet, while I "work" on my "tube" project, I'm enjoying some hot chocolet, perfect way to end the night don't you think??
