Comment: Wow, reading all of these comments with 12 and 13 yr olds designing their own sweater patterns makes me feel really old (at 16!) and REALLY new to knitting. I started knitting just a few months ago when my Girl Scout troop decided to knit lap blankets for wheelchair patients at a friend's hospital. (Yes, I know, I'm still in Girl Scouts...but trust me, it's NOT as dorky as it sounds!) Now I'm planning what I want to knit over the upcoming Spring Break, and the lists of all the knitting patterns are very helpful! I have my eye on either a cell phone or iPod cozy...wish me luck!

Subject: updating in the round-ha
Comment: Hi Mrs. Mousie here, Just wanted to update my knitting. The other day I went to a knitting convention. It was great!! I didn't realize how many knitters were out there! When I was there, I brought some yarn and cute little circular knitting needles, I'm working on my first "tubular purse" (working in the round this time) I realy am starting to like tea also! Tea and knitting with my mice, perfect way to rid anxiety!

Subject: Turkey Skewers
Comment: When I was 10 yeras old I used to watch my Aunt Delores knit and crochet. The family said I was too young to do those things so I looked in the junk drawer and found string and turkey skewers and my knitting days began. That was 53 years ago and I am still going strong.

Subject: Teaching kids to knit
Comment: I feel that knitting has changed my life. Because i knit, I now investigate the quality of the things I buy. I have taught my son to knit and crochet, and my daughter can crochet. They're six and nine. It's never too early. When they start recognizing letters, it's time to teach them. Maybe they'll look over that sweater in the store one day, and say, I can make better.

Subject: Loving it
Comment: I just wanted to share my story and first of all say that I'm so happy to see younger people get into knitting.

When I was 5 years old my grandma put yarn an a crochet hook in my hands and since then she hasn't been able to get me to stop lol. I'm 21 years old now and still going strong and learning all new things. She also taught me how to knit just the basic knit stitch and now that I'm older I'm teaching myself a lot more.

Now I own my own web site selling the baby clothes that I have made. It feels great to do something with my time and make things for others. Hopefully one day I will have a child of my own to dress up in all of my cute projects.

Subject: Knitting.. The best thing ever!
Comment: Hello all you other knitters out there! im 13 and have been knitting for about 2 years. At high school i still take either knitting or a pattern book with me to read or do. Everyone was teasing, and calling me a grandma... now i look back and laugh.. they were just jealous because they cant do it. my friends think its really cool and they support me when people tease me.

No matter what people say... you have a very special gift.. the gift of creating anything with your own hands. dont let anyone get you down!

Knitting truely is the best thing ever!!

xoxo Princess G :D
